Semperfli Pure Silk Fly Tying Thread
12 Days Of Christmas Final Offer
Semperfli Pure Silk Fly Tying Thread is a twisted pure silk, popular for traditional fly patterns such as spiders or Clyde style.
If you are wanting to use Pure Silk flat, simply untwist it by spinning on your bobbin holder. This dual purpose means it can be used in different ways and has added strength compared to traditional silks.
Pure Silk has been developed to be a close match to the historic colours of pure silks as seen in the Edmonds & Lee book, Brook & River Trouting, of which Semperfli are lucky enough to have an original copy.
With Semperfli's origins in Yorkshire, UK, and having fanatical Clyde style and Northern Spider tyers on the Pro Team, genuine silks were an essential part of the Semperfli range. When the team were lucky enough to get an original copy of the Edmonds and Lee book they worked with their Pro Team to match new silk threads against the original flies & flosses. As a consequence the # number is the approximate color match to the Edmunds & Lee colors.
To accompany the Pure Silks range the Semperfli Cobblers Wax is ideal for the creation of the perfect Greenwells colour.
Semperfli Pure Silk has an approximate denier of 250D, 3/0 and there is 50m / 54.6 yards (approx) of thread per spool of Pure Silk.
